• What is a Green Card policy?

  A Green Card is a contract of compulsory civil liability insurance for owners of land vehicles traveling abroad. You can purchase a Green Card policy for a car registered in Ukraine; for cars with foreign license plates, you must issue a domestic Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy.

• What is the maximum/minimum term for which a car can be insured under a Green Card?

  The Green Card insurance contract is for a period of 15 days to 1 year.

• What to do if the Green Card expired before you returned to the territory of Ukraine?

  If the Green Card has expired and you have not yet left the country, you will have to purchase a national Civil Motor Vehicle Insurance (CVMI) of the country where you are.

  Unfortunately, it is impossible to extend the validity of the Green Card.

  Always calculate the duration of your trip: it is better to apply for a longer period than to look for insurance in a foreign country later.

• What should I do if I forgot my Green Card policy at home?

  If you forgot your Green Card contract somewhere at home and are already at the border, then, unfortunately, you will be required to issue a new one or an internal Civil Motor Vehicle Certificate of the country you are entering.

  If you have an electronic copy, you will still have to pay a fine for the lack of an original insurance policy.

  Lost or damaged insurance policy? The insurance company where you issued the policy can issue a duplicate if you are still in Ukraine.
