On February 7, a large-scale project to introduce an electronic policy of compulsory civil liability insurance for car owners officially launched in Ukraine. Thus, car owners will be able to apply for a "motor vehicle liability" policy remotely, without visiting the insurance company's office. on the insurer's website and after making the insurance payment, receive it by e-mail.
The "TAS" Insurance Group successfully passed the MTIBU technical certification procedure and is currently one of five insurance companies that has received the right to issue electronic OCTP policies.
It is worth noting that, despite the obvious advantages of issuing a policy via the Internet, recently a number of media outlets have reported on certain difficulties that may await policyholders who choose this method of purchasing a "motor vehicle insurance policy."
First of all, this concerns the client's lack of a "right to make a mistake" when filling out the policy data independently. After all, if the data specified in the policy does not correspond to reality, in the event of an insured event, the insurer has the right to refuse to pay compensation. And in this case, the client will be forced to independently decide on the issue of compensation to the injured parties for the losses caused.
And given that domestic consumers of insurance services do not yet have experience in drawing up insurance contracts in electronic form, and the number of fields that must be filled in is no more or less than about 30, the probability that they will accidentally make mistakes when drawing up the policy is quite high. On the other hand, according to experts, there are certain technical nuances that may prevent the client from receiving reliable insurance protection in the event of drawing up an electronic policy. In particular, they draw attention to the fact that in the absence of a prompt payment of the insurance payment to the insurer's account - day after day - the client's application for an electronic policy is automatically canceled, and the client is left without proper insurance protection and forced to "start all over again."
Taking into account all these points and realizing the clients' fears caused by the novelty of the project, the Insurance Group "TAS" has made an unprecedented decision: in order to ensure comprehensive support for policyholders and the correctness of their filling out of an electronic policy, the company will provide all its clients who wish to apply for it with the opportunity to use the help of competent specialists. To do this, it is enough to leave an application on the insurer's website or contact any office of the company. Qualified specialists of the SG "TAS" will explain how to correctly fill out all the data in the application for an electronic policy, or - at the request of the insured - will do it for him: they will create an application for an e-policy in the MTIBU database, make a payment, and the client will receive an electronic version of the “auto-civil” policy by mail at the same time. Moreover, at the client’s request, he can also receive a paper policy form.
«Without any doubt, electronic policy – is a very necessary and useful thing, - notes the Chairman of the Board of SG «TAS» Pavlo Tsaruk. – Meanwhile, we understand very well all the fears of our clients, because any innovation initially causes people some fear. On the other hand, for many people, the very mechanism of concluding an insurance contract via the Internet remains incomprehensible, which means that errors when drawing up a policy are inevitable. Of course, over time everyone will get used to this, and certain technical shortcomings that some media representatives and experts draw attention to will definitely be corrected over time. However, for now it is obvious to us: clients will be much more confident if they enlist the support of qualified specialists. In addition, this will guarantee the correctness of the policy execution, and accordingly, its validity, which is the key to receiving insurance compensation in the event of an insured event.
Therefore, starting from February 7, all clients of SG «TAS» who wish to issue an electronic policy can do so with the help of the company's specialists.
In addition, given that up to this time the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police of Ukraine have not approved regulatory documents that would provide a legal framework for the police to check electronic policies of OSCPV from drivers, SG «TAS» advises car owners not to neglect the paper version of the "auto-civil policy". That is, having issued an electronic policy with the help of the company's specialists, additionally receive a paper form: this will prevent misunderstandings and remove any controversial issues in the event of a demand from police officers to present the policy.
It remains to add that the implementation of the specified project was another step of the SG "TAS" towards the client, due to the desire to provide him with comprehensive insurance protection and ensure the highest quality service.
