«I was skiing, fell, and sprained my wrist. I had to go to the doctor for an appointment, get an X-ray. I spent a total of $100. Upon arrival in Ukraine — the company reimbursed the money spent.»

What you need to do to make this simple procedure go smoothly:

«My 5-year-old daughter had a fever at the hotel. They could not get her down all night. They tried to call the number indicated in the insurance, but no one answered. Then they wrote to the email address indicated in the letter. They answered, started looking for a doctor, but said that they would call an ambulance if necessary. We searched for a doctor for a long time, so my wife and I called an ambulance, paid about 140 euros. I also paid 20 euros one way for a taxi, because they wouldn't let us go in the ambulance. Upon arrival home, we sent all the checks to the insurance company. We were compensated for the ambulance call, but I paid for the taxi myself.»

 

Why was one part of the expenses compensated, but not the other?

Sim’I bought travel insurance with a basic package of services. It covers only medical care, but not all related expenses, such as a taxi to the hospital, additional payment for housing, etc. If we had bought insurance with additional options — would have covered the costs of a taxi.

The next day, the operation was performed, and the medicine still had to be bought. All expenses were covered by the insurance company.»

An accident and an acute need for quality medical care — can occur even in the most inopportune place. The woman was not involved in active sports, she simply accidentally fell while walking. At the same time, if it were not for the insurance — would have to pay several thousand euros for treatment.
