ChatGPT in Ukraine: what it can do and how to use it

If you haven't yet been interested in the capabilities of ChatGPT, you should try it, because businesses are increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI) in their work. Experts predict that this technology will replace hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs. Let's find out if this is really the case, what ChatGPT can do, and how AI is currently being used in Ukraine.

What is ChatGPT

Since the end of November 2022, conversations about the OpenAI product have not subsided. ChatGPT, since its availability to the general public, has been used in various fields, for example, in Ukraine most often for content creation, marketing and PR activities, team management, and code writing (Projector AI Lab survey data, March 2023).

What is it? In simple terms, ChatGPT is a chatbot that interacts with users in the form of a conversational dialogue and provides answers to the questions asked. The more precise the query, the more useful the information you will receive from AI.

At the time of the release of the GPT-3.5 AI model, its developers noted that artificial intelligence possesses information from the Internet that was on the World Wide Web as of the end of 2021. At the same time, this chatbot has the ability to learn. Each query it receives from a person enriches it with new information that it uses to form answers to subsequent queries. So, on the one hand, ChatGPT becomes a good assistant, but on the other, a dangerous channel for the "merger" of trade secrets, because AI does not provide for the protection of information and personal data. That is why artificial intelligence experts warn about the careful handling of ChatGPT. In short, you should think very carefully before personalizing the next question too much. But this does not mean that you should not use the latest technology at work or for personal needs.

Experts also emphasize the importance of being able to use AI, because, for example, according to Goldman Sachs forecasts (published by CNN in April), about 300 million full-time jobs around the world can probably be automated in some way using AI, in particular, this includes the influence of large linguistic models such as ChatGPT. According to analysts, it is not worth talking about the complete replacement of such a number of jobs, but in the future the functions of certain specialists will still become the work of artificial intelligence.

Registration in ChatGPT: features of creating an account in Ukraine

In 2022, registration in ChatGPT for Ukrainians was limited due to global sanctions related to the annexation of the ORDLO and Crimea in 2014. However, later OpenAI was able to open registration for non-sanctioned territories of Ukraine. Therefore, now you can register for the GPT chat in just a few minutes:

go to the official OpenAI website;
enter your email address, mobile phone number, and the code you will receive on it;
formulate your first request and send it to the neural network.

How to use ChatGPT

After registering, you will see the main page with several blocks:

If you receive an error message while communicating with the bot, don't worry. Try repeating the steps or visiting the site later. This can happen because ChatGPT has a limited number of simultaneous incoming requests.

What can ChatGPT do and does it have any drawbacks?

In the spring of 2023, the developers introduced an updated version — GPT-4, which can:

Work with complex questions that contain several search parameters at once. This is convenient, because the user receives quite meaningful and thorough information, but at the same time he does not need to go to other sites, for example, like in the Google search engine.
Generate code. The bot can translate the code into the desired language, and can also advise on what operations should be performed with it, find errors, or even write a small program.
Help with creatives. It writes texts for blogs and websites, scripts, stories, essays, song lyrics, sheet music, etc.
Make various calculations or plan based on tabular data.
Prepare a correct query for other neural networks, for example, to create an image.
Collect information for advice in various areas of everyday life, including insurance.

We have listed only part of what the chatbot can do. In fact, its capabilities are much broader, the main thing is to formulate queries correctly. To do this, clearly define the goal and gradually move towards it by adjusting the dialogue with the neural network. When you doubt whether you have formulated the query to ChatGPT clearly enough, ask it to do it for you. For example, here's how: give him the task of writing a prompt that would more accurately describe the topic you need, and then copy his answer and paste it into the chat as your own request.

It's also interesting to work with ChatGPT when you want to create certain content on behalf of a specific character. Specify this in the request and the chatbot will adjust to the desired style.

If, while generating text, the bot has not finished a thought and stopped, say, in the middle of a word or sentence, enter something like the command "please finish the last thought." Then the bot will continue writing.

ChatGPT usage examples

Given the wide range of possibilities, there are already examples of ChatGPT usage in various areas. Let's talk about the top 5, which are the most interesting in our opinion.

Generating content in foreign languages. The economic situation complicated by the war and the forced popularization of Ukraine in the world opens the way to foreign markets, in particular Europe and the USA. At the same time, in order to work with foreign clients, you need to know at least English, and even better the language of the country where the company is going. For example, Spanish is better suited for the Spanish-speaking world. If you yourself do not know the necessary language, you need to use the services of a translator, which increases the cost of creating texts. This is where ChatGPT will become a good assistant. It can write the necessary description or article for a blog in several languages \u200b\u200bquite quickly. True, the result should still be checked for errors.

Collecting information on a complex topic. To save time on data collection through search engines, entrust this to ChatGPT.

Writing simple computer code. Yes, with the advent of neural networks, the work of programmers will most likely soon change somewhat, since a chatbot will write part of the code for them. However, it will not be possible to completely replace a person here, because a bot needs to prepare a thorough technical specification, check and correct the result.

A useful tool for business analysts. ChatGPT can help these specialists perform various tasks, including collecting and analyzing requirements, creating documentation, and tracking the process of collecting and managing requirements. It can explain how the requirements were collected, which were rejected, changed, and accepted.

Writing a resume and cover letter. Here, the chatbot will not only be able to create a document according to a certain template, but will also generate text with the necessary accents, based on the expectations of employers, your experience, wishes regarding the vacancy, and an analysis of competition in the labor market.
