The 18-member Fusedmarc band was insured for 3.1 million euros with various types of insurance before leaving for the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv.
"Representing Lithuania and its name at an international competition watched by a multi-million audience is a challenge for our delegation. It requires concentration, maximum effort and all-round dedication. We are insuring the representatives of Lithuania going to the Eurovision Song Contest for the seventh time, so we know that the musicians and their accompanying persons face many organizational problems, huge competition and tension at the competition. We are ready to take care of the safety of people going to Kyiv, to support them at the contest," said Marius Yundulas, CEO of the insurance company Gjensidige.
According to him, the insurance amount for each member of the Fusedmarc duo and the representative of the delegation assisting them exceeds 170 thousand euros. They are all insured against medical expenses, accidents, travel insurance, loss of luggage, travel documents, personal belongings, as well as in case of delay on the way.
The insurance amount for Lithuanian teams going to Eurovision increases annually. In 2013, the Lithuanian delegation was insured for 695 thousand euros, in 2014 - 926 thousand euros, in 2015 - more than 1.5 million euros, and in 2016 - 2.4 million euros.
