Vinnytsia has started insuring military personnel who have been deployed to the ATO since 2017. On Monday, the defenders of the state were presented with the first insurance certificates.
If a military personnel receives serious injuries, they will be able to receive prompt treatment. Payments will be made within five days, the Vinnytsia City Council website reports.
"When a soldier applies to the military enlistment office to conclude a contract, we inform him that he will be insured. The contract begins to operate from the moment he is in the ATO zone. The City Council pays about 4 thousand hryvnias for the insurance of each military personnel as insurance payments. All other funds provided after an insured event are paid by the insurance company," says Yulia Fedina, a representative of the insurance company.
The maximum amount of payment under an insurance contract is 100 thousand hryvnias. It is received by the soldier's relatives in the event of his death. If a soldier is wounded, depending on the severity of the wound and its consequences, he is paid funds within the range of one hundred thousand hryvnias for treatment.
The term of the contract is one year. It can be extended.
