The Verkhovna Rada approved the draft “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Features of Insurance of Agricultural Products with State Support” (regarding the clarification of some terms and concepts)”.
From now on, entrepreneurs in the fishing industry will be able to attract state support in insuring their products.
This will simplify working conditions and reduce risks in fish farming, and will also help farmers in the industry plan their activities in the long term,” said Yarema Kovalev, head of the State Fish Agency.
— «The law will enable agricultural producers of the fishery industry to use the possibility of insurance protection of their property interests in the event of various insured events».
Let us recall that previously some problematic risks of fisheries did not have the possibility of legislative protection through insurance and did not fall under the right to state support.
The current amendments and additions to the Law of Ukraine «On the Features of Insurance of Agricultural Products with State Support» concern the replacement of terms and the addition of the concept of «agricultural insurance risk» in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Fisheries, Industrial Fishing and Protection of Aquatic Bioresources".
