The Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIB) is introducing new tariffs for "Green Card" policies from December 28, 2017. for those traveling abroad by car.
According to the bureau's announcement published on its website, MTIBU has recalculated the cost of the "Green Card" insurance certificates that are being introduced, increasing by 5.2%.
The last change in tariffs was on September 28, 2017, also increasing by 3%.
"Green Card" policies have been sold since 2009 in two types: all of Europe and Belarus, Moldova and Russia. Also, since January 1, 2016, Ukrainian "Green Card" policies began to operate in the territory of Azerbaijan.
According to MTIBU, the cost of the "Green Card" in Ukraine for 15 days for trips around Europe for cars will increase to 805 UAH (previously - 765 UAH), for buses - 3,025 thousand UAH (previously - 2,874 thousand UAH), for trucks - 1,899 thousand UAH (previously - 1,804 thousand UAH).
The cost of the "Green Card" for one month for cars will be 1,282 thousand UAH (previously - 1,218 thousand UAH), buses - 4,202 thousand UAH (previously - 3,992 thousand UAH), trucks - 2,521 thousand UAH (previously - 2,395 thousand UAH).
The cost of the semi-annual and annual "Green Card" policies for passenger cars will be 5,691 thousand UAH and 7,045 thousand UAH, respectively, for buses - 14,708 thousand UAH and 27,315 thousand UAH, for trucks - 11,934 thousand UAH and 22,524 thousand UAH, respectively.
The cost of policies for trips to Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova and the Russian Federation for passenger cars for 15 days will be 586 UAH (previously - 557 UAH), for one month - 863 UAH (previously - 819 UAH), for six months - 1,978 thousand UAH (previously - 1,877 thousand UAH), for a year - 2,816 thousand UAH (previously - 2,676 thousand UAH).
The amounts of single insurance payments under international agreements compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of land vehicles are established by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of January 6, 2005 and are specified in euros.
"Green Card" is a system of insurance protection for victims of a road accident regardless of their country of residence and the country of registration of the vehicle. "Green Card" extends to the territory of 47 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
According to the decision adopted by the General Assembly of the Council of Bureaus of the international auto insurance system "Green Card" in Luxembourg in May 2004, Ukraine has been a full member of this system since January 1, 2005.
