Interpol has put former Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NASK Oranta Oleg Spilka and Supervisory Board member Oleksandr Tyminsky on the international wanted list at the request of Ukraine.
UNIAN was informed about this by the law firm Ilyashev & Partners, which represents the interests of BTA Bank (Kazakhstan) - the largest shareholder of NASK Oranta.
According to the lawyers, Spilka and Tyminsky are accused of embezzling NASK Oranta's property in the amount of more than 10 million dollars. According to the materials of the criminal proceedings, in 2008 they organized a scheme to transfer the rights to the trademarks of NASK Oranta to a controlled company. The price of the transaction was UAH 6 million. Two months later, the same trademarks were transferred back to Oranta for a five-year lease, for which the insurance company paid more than UAH 65 million. In 2009, a similar scheme was used to withdraw funds from the sale and repurchase by the Oranta Insurance Company of shares in the authorized capital of Garant-Assistance LLC, which resulted in losses of UAH 16 million for the company.
It is also reported that the National Police has charged citizens Spilka and Tyminsky under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (embezzlement, embezzlement of property or seizure of it by abuse of official position on a particularly large scale or by an organized group) with a penalty of up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As is known, Oranta Insurance Company was founded in 1921. Until 1993, the company was called Ukrderzhstrakh. The company is a member of the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Insurance Federation, the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine, the Nuclear Insurance Pool and other professional associations.
The main owners of the company are BTA Bank, Kazakhstan (35.1700%), the Cypriot companies Backwood Holdings Limited (13.7400%) and Geswood Holdings Limited (11.2800%).
