Before traveling to Israel, it is worth understanding the key points: do Ukrainians need a visa, what documents need to be prepared, what insurance to choose.
There is a visa-free regime between Ukraine and Israel, and you can fly there without any worries as soon as cheap tickets become available. However, they will still carefully check at the border: return tickets home, whether accommodation is booked, whether there is insurance. Therefore, it is imperative to have this document with you.
We answer the most common questions that arise when buying insurance in Israel:
Don't be lazy to understand all the questions, because the country is worth all the effort spent on planning a trip. Ukrainians usually go to Israel for a seaside vacation, on gastronomic or religious tours, and sometimes just travel around the cities. Regardless of how you plan to relax, insurance is still necessary.
The minimum amount of insurance for this country is $30,000. This is enough to cover the costs of treatment if necessary. Also, insurance may differ according to the following features:
Duration of the trip. For short-term trips, you can take out a policy for 7 days or a month, but if you are going to stay there for a long time, it is easier to get insurance for a year at once.
Purpose of the trip. If your goal is a simple, relaxing vacation in the city, then the simplest insurance is suitable. For active sports, for example, surfing, you need a different type of insurance, as well as for a trip for work purposes. It is better to immediately inform about such plans when applying for a policy so that there are no problems with payments later.
Service package. Some clients have enough regular medical insurance, while others order additional options. Such as insurance against flight cancellation or long delay, baggage and document insurance. They increase the amount of insurance coverage.
Separately, insurance is also taken out by the elderly, those with health complications, or those in the last months of pregnancy.
The cost usually depends on all the parameters that we wrote about above. But it also varies greatly, depending on the chosen insurance company.
Electronic insurance is usually cheaper than paper insurance, and it is easier to find. Just go to a popular insurance service, enter all the details about the trip and get a list to choose from. There will be names of companies and their ratings, prices and descriptions of the service package.
The simplest and cheapest insurance in Israel for a week costs from 100 to 900 hryvnias. For two weeks of rest with sports and active recreation, it costs from 300 hryvnias to several thousand. And if you are going to go for a year and also work there, then the insurance will cost at least 2300 hryvnias.
The most expensive insurance does not always mean the most reliable and vice versa, a low price does not mean low quality. The truth is somewhere in the middle: look at the reviews, and among those that customers speak well of, choose the company with the best price.
Before taking any action, you need to call the number indicated in the insurance. Describe your situation in detail and listen to what they advise you to do. Do not panic and call an ambulance before this call. If it turns out that emergency care was not needed, the insurance company may refuse to cover the costs.
Agree on further actions by calling the specified number, and then take action. You will be directed to the hospital, where they will provide information about the policy. Or they will call a doctor to your home, but such a service usually takes time. Before paying for any medications or procedures out of your own pocket, it is also better to find out whether these costs will be covered later.
When you return home, you will need to collect all the checks and statements, submit them to the insurance company and wait for compensation.
In order not to get lost in an emergency situation, we recommend that you separately write down the number of your insurance policy and the contacts of the company representatives. If necessary, you can quickly contact them and provide your policy number so that they can advise you.
After you choose a good document, learn what to do if you need it. This will help you get the most out of your insurance and avoid confusion.
