Since the end of 2018, you can not only buy a policy online, but also use it exclusively in electronic form. An electronic document has the same force as a paper one, which greatly simplifies life for both drivers and insurance companies. Companies may not open additional offices. After all, all actions take place online, and it is much more convenient for customers to purchase the service.
Despite such a convenient change, drivers are in no hurry to buy an Autocivilka in electronic form. The Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine has compiled statistics, according to which only 5% of vehicle owners chose an e-policy by 2019. Others continue to apply for paper insurance. Why is this happening? Perhaps drivers are still afraid that they will be fined for not having paper insurance. Or they do not know which companies to buy this document from and not fall for scammers. To dispel doubts, we answer popular questions:
All companies that have the right to sell policies, including electronic ones, receive a license from the MTIBU. In 2019, their number increased: more than three dozen companies sell electronic OSCPV on the Internet. But they usually turn to the most popular insurance companies that were the first to introduce the new system.
The largest number of e-policies is purchased from companies such as PZU Ukraine and VUSO, as well as Knyazha and Providna. They are followed by SG TAS, Oranta and UPSK. Electronic insurance is also purchased from the remaining companies, but in smaller quantities.
The electronic insurance system was introduced for a reason, it has a number of advantages for Ukrainian drivers:
Many drivers find them suspicious and unreliable. Customers are afraid of getting a fake. But this document is also registered through the MTIBU database. It, like the paper one, can be checked for authenticity — in terms of security, they are no different.
Customers are often concerned because they have heard about fines for not having a paper original of the OSCPV. Such cases have occurred before, but since the order on the recognition of e-policies has been in effect for over a year — everyone should know about the absence of fines. If an unscrupulous police officer decides to issue a fine — refer to the order of the National Financial Services Commission, which was issued in early 2018. It clearly states — an e-policy has the same force as a paper one.
Dispelling fears is not so difficult as noticing the obvious advantages of an electronic document. To protect yourself and purchase an e-policy without difficulties — it is enough to choose a company in which this service is in demand.
Every day, more and more Ukrainians are acquiring electronic OSCPV policies, and soon they will completely replace their paper counterparts
