Insurance Company "Universalna", Insurance Company "Kraina", "Ukrainian Insurance Group" (USG), Insurance Company "UNIQA" (UNIQA) and Insurance Company "Globus" (all Kyiv) have become members of the "National Association of Insurers of Ukraine" (NASU), registered on November 1, 2017, the agency "Interfax-Ukraine" reported. general director of the association Natalia Hudyma.
According to her, the association of insurers is non-profit, created on the basis of professional affiliation, common interests and unites companies that share the goals and objectives of the Association. The priority areas of its activity are the development and implementation of a high level of rules and standards of activity in the insurance services market.
The plans of the NASU include, in particular, participation in the development and improvement of legislation in the field of financial services, organization and conduct of independent examination of legislative and regulatory legal acts, creation of an attractive environment for foreign investors in the insurance market of Ukraine, assistance in ensuring a high level of economic efficiency, competitiveness and social responsibility of the activities of the association's participants.
N. Hudyma also noted that the Association intends to interact with other professional market associations in order to create a civilized and highly professional financial services market in Ukraine.
The new association of insurers also intends to maintain direct international contacts, hold relevant seminars, conferences, etc., conclude agreements, contracts, memorandums with enterprises, institutions, organizations and state bodies that are necessary for the implementation of statutory tasks, interact with non-governmental and international funds and organizations, receiving financial, technical and other assistance from them.
According to the Director General of the NASU, the association intends to be open and public, regularly publishing materials about its activities, as well as analytical materials on various segments of the country's insurance market.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the founders of the NASU are the insurance company "Kraina" the ultimate beneficiary of which is the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the insurance company Universalna (both Kyiv) - the ultimate beneficiary is Vitaly Antonov - the majority shareholder of the OKKO Group holding.
As reported, N. Hudyma held the position of President of the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine (LIOU) from 2009 to 2013, and from April to September 2014 - General Director of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine.
Today, three associations of insurers operate in Ukraine: LIOU, the Ukrainian Federation of Insurance and the Association Insurance Business .
