The law on compulsory state health insurance has been in Parliament for a year. But it is blocked and not brought up for discussion.
This was stated on the air of the program «Kyiv Live» TV channel "Kyiv" MP, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health Care Olga Bogomolets.
She noted that the draft law on mandatory health insurance is being blocked by the team of the Ministry of Health and business representatives in the Verkhovna Rada, who are "interested in introducing not mandatory, but voluntary insurance through private insurance companies."
"That pseudo-reform law adopted by the Ministry of Health guarantees people the minimum: a family doctor who can do little, emergency medicine without a doctor in the car, palliative care and childbirth. Therefore, solvent people will go to private insurance companies, and those who have no money - are left to die," – the People's Deputy said.
